FAQ

Is MONOCHROME free to play?
Yes. The experience has no entry price - the public Roblox games API reads price: null as of October 24, 2026 - and a free Roblox account is enough to start and finish the escape.
What costs Robux in MONOCHROME?
Optional extras only: the Radar gamepass (bound to R, 20 Robux) and the Goggles gamepass (bound to G, 50 Robux) shown in the in-game control hints, plus a paid revive option added by the Part 2 update.
Do you need Robux to beat MONOCHROME?
No. The four keys, the code and the elevator are all reachable in a plain free run, and recorded full runs are completed without spending anything.
How much does the monster mode cost?
A figure of 100 Robux circulates in video commentary, but it has never been confirmed on the official page or in a store listing - treat it as unverified. The official page publishes no price or availability for the mode.
How much does the Part 2 revive cost?
Unknown. Launch-window footage confirms a paid revive option exists on the new floor, but no price has been published on the official listing.

Is MONOCHROME free to play?

Yes. The game has no entry price: the public Roblox games API reads price: null for the experience (rechecked October 24, 2026), which means joining costs nothing, and a free Roblox account is enough to reach the ending. Nothing about the escape — the four keys, the code, the elevator — sits behind a purchase. That is worth stating plainly because horror games on Roblox often carry a mix of paid extras, and searchers reasonably assume this one does too. It does have optional spending, and the next section is the complete list of it.

What actually costs Robux

Three optional items, none required:

ItemPriceWhat is knownWhat is not
Radar gamepass20 RobuxBound to the R key; read from the in-game control hints in September 2026 footageWhat the radar actually displays is not documented on the official page
Goggles gamepass50 RobuxBound to the G key; same control-hints sourceWhat the goggles do is not documented on the official page
Paid revive (Part 2)Not publishedExists as an option in launch-window footage of the new floorThe price — the official listing publishes none

The two gamepass prices come from the current build’s control hints as recorded in September 2026 footage, and the keys guide covers them in context. They have not been re-read against the current build — the game has updated since that footage (the listing stamp read October 16, 2026 at our October 24 recheck) — so treat the two numbers as the last documented prices, not a live quote. What the Radar and Goggles actually do for gameplay is not documented anywhere official — no walkthrough confirms either is needed for key hunting, so treat them as experiments, not upgrades. The monster guide has the same caution on the revive side: deaths already cost you time rather than progress, since inserted keys stay inserted and the code does not change within a run.

What about the 100 Robux monster mode?

A number that circulates in video commentary — 100 Robux for a play-as-the-monster mode — has never been confirmed by anything official. Multiplayer footage does show a player-controlled monster session, so the mode has existed, but the official Roblox page publishes neither its availability nor a price. The exclusion basis for leaving 100 Robux out of the table above: it traces to creator commentary, not to a store listing or the official page, and this site does not print an unverified price as fact. The multiplayer guide separates what that footage proves from what it does not.

Watch for lookalikes before you spend anything

The free-to-play question has one more trap: similarly named experiences exist on Roblox, and some copy the name to farm searches. The real one is published by the developer behind the experience currently listed as “MONOCHROME🎃” — the listing’s name changes with seasonal events and read ”{ Pt. 2 } MONOCHROME” at the Part 2 launch — with the four-keys-and-one-code premise described in the game overview. If a page or launcher asks for payment to “unlock” MONOCHROME, you are not looking at the real listing — and if a third-party site asks for your Roblox credentials for “free Robux”, close the tab.
